Just a little animation of sorts using one of my illustrations.
Here’s another quick breakdown of my illustration process.
I. I start out on a piece of paper and draw a quick and basic sketch of what I want. I try to keep it simple as possible, since I’ll have plenty of time to worry about details and stuff like that later on.
II. I scan my drawing and clean up my lines in photoshop. Here’s where I fix anatomy problems, add symbols and add other little details.
III. Paint basic colors. This is the part I hate the most. Color. I’m not good with colors. I struggle a lot when it comes to come up with a color palette. So, I end up grabbing photos from my favorite photographers and steal their colors. Because I’m very original and imaginative.
IV. Paint basic shadows.
V. Paint lips and eyes, because I can’t stand looking at a girl with colorless eyes and lips.
VI. Add basic highlights to create a sense of volume.
VII. Add cool and not very realistic scar to increase toughness.
VIII. Clean up certain areas to soften her face.
IX. Paint the skull on the background
X. Add weird effects. (That’s the best explanation I can come up with)
XI. Add Textures and noise so the piece looks a bit more organic.
And that’s it! I obviously skipped the steps where I get distracted with every little thing and end up playing Team Fortress 2.
3-4 hours.
I can’t believe I did not post this before.
*If you look closely, the mouth moves just enough to be creepy.

Well, this is a sneak peek of the main look of a short film I’m working on. The film is based on something I wrote a while back, and it will also feature animated photos (like my ‘Recommend me video’) and some 3D elements (I hope).
Oh, and I will definitely post the final result here :)
